Lectures

So after a quick three weeks I have attended a total of ten lectures, both online and on campus, and participated in three workshops for the EDN113 unit. Over this time I have look at Authentic Learning, Digital Citizenship and how to feature others work in an online environment.

Unfortunately I have not found any of these topics from the first three weeks interesting. I want to be a dedicated independent learner, but I need to find a way to direct my attention to the relevant topics on hand.

For those of you who are wondering what authentic learning is; it is a way of teaching that prepares the students for real life experiences. The teacher in a classroom acts as a supervisor or event manager instead of a dictator. The work and projects that each student will complete are directed towards lifelong skills that can be used for community events.

With this being the future of education I honestly think that students are going to be more interested in what they learn than what I was given nearly ten years ago.

  2. I am finding it difficult to keep up with the workload expected of us, when teachers even agree we have had alot, proves my point. In saying this, it will definitely prepare us for the years ahead as the topics become harder and i become a full time nurse. I need to organise everything once and for all. :) until then i shall slowly pull my hair out haha
